High School
It's a place where you figure out the basis of who you are and who you will become.
It's a place where you see who's a lasting friend and who's an acquaintance.
It changes who you were and I'm bloody glad it did.
High School changed me from a problematic junior high student, to a responsible and independent person. You may contrast with the independent part but there are many, like myself, who began paying for themselves in the beginning of their high school days. It was sophomore year when I began paying for my own clothes and all my extra stuff. Like my horse. Now today, I pay and take care of all that plus my car. Yes, I live under my family's roof and they feed me, but that's when I'm home. And I'm happy I still have that.
Going off to college they say is a big step. I want to disagree, but I can't because I have not been there just yet. It will happen soon though and I believe that I am ready for the responsibility of living "on my own". Freshman year I'll be home. Sophomore year, with Jackie. And Junior and Senior, hopefully in an apartment with Jackie, Kyle, and who ever else stumbles along. This may change, but at least I have a goal.
I'm ready.
(And I have confidence in that statement and in myself.)

Goals are good things to have ^^! Without goals... there would be no "Big Step" right?
Or is the "Big Step" really the Goal?
